Dr. Mckeen joins the Elite Surgical Center team as a Board-Certified General Surgeon with a specialty in Advanced Laparoscopic Bariatric (Weight Loss) Surgery. While he has spent over 20 years as a general surgeon, he first started performing bariatric procedures in 2001, then decided to devote his entire career to the field of weight loss surgery just two years later.
Whether Elite Surgical Center patients are in need of a sleeve gastrectomy, a gastric bypass, or a gastric band procedure, Dr. McKeen can use his laparoscopic expertise to give them the best chance of success while minimizing their surgical risks.
Dr. McKeen knows that the world of bariatric surgery is constantly evolving and improving, so he dedicates himself to improving along with it.
In 2001 and 2002 Dr. McKeen became trained in general laparoscopic surgery and Lap Band surgery, respectively. Then, in 2007 and 2008, he added certification in the sleeve gastrectomy, StomaphyX, and REALIZE band procedures to his growing list of accomplishments. Most recently, in 2014, Dr. McKeen became certified in single incision Laparoscopic surgery in order to give patients amazing results while reducing the amount of scarring that they experience from their surgery. He brings all of these skills to Elite Surgical Center to help as many patients as possible achieve a healthy weight.
His years of experience across both bariatric and general surgery has earned him membership status in the American Society of Bariatric Surgery, the American Medical Association, and the American College of Surgeons.
